Amazonies

Amazonias

Temporary exhibition

From 18 April 2025 to 08 February 2026

Discover Amazonia’s many faces

A dense forest stretching as far as the eye can see, regarded as impenetrable and inhospitable. The immensity of a river, the Amazon, zigzagging its way through the depths of the trees. When you think about Amazonia, images topple over themselves. But what do we know of the diversity of the peoples who live in the forest?

In the exhibition, the Kayapo Mêbengôkre, Ashaninka, Wayana and Apalaï tribes take the floor and tell us about their perception of the world and their struggles to defend their rights and territories. Through the diversity of objects and testimonies collected during field missions, the Musée des Confluences raises the curtain on a plural Amazonia anchored in our modern world.
